Vegan Cheese Recipe: Delicious and Easy To Prepare

The vegan cheese market has exploded in the last few years. There is now a multitude of flavorful varieties.

People’s main concern with some types of vegan cheese is the amount of processed ingredients they contain. Some of the more processed types of vegan cheese contain large amounts of refined oils, preservatives, colour or additives. Of course, some other vegan cheeses are primarily comprised of whole foods like ground nuts and seeds or cooked vegetables with added spices to mimic cheese flavours. 

The vegan cheese recipe that I will show you today is healthy and simple, requiring just 6 ingredients that you can find in your kitchen! And the method is easy as well. You have to plan as it needs to be in your fridge overnight for you to eat. Here it goes: 

Ingredients:

Vegan Cheese

150 grams of almond flour

4 tablespoons of lemon juice

3 tablespoons of olive oil

2 garlic cloves

1/2 cup of Water (120 millilitres)

1 pinch of salt

Preparation:

1-Place the ingredients in a blender and crush everything together until a compact and homogeneous mass is formed. Crush them as many times as necessary until all the ingredients are mixed well.

2-Place the mixture on a cheesecloth, gauze or a fine mesh and make a knot into a ball, tightening the mixture well.

3-Then, place the ball on a strainer with a container on the bottom and let it rest for 12 hours in the refrigerator.

(Tip: The strainer will hold the vegan cheese and all the water released by it will be deposited in the container)

4-To finish, preheat the oven to 100 ° C and grease a small mold with oil to place the cheese. Then let it cook for about 40 minutes.

The biggest thing you’ll notice with your dairy-free cheese is that it doesn’t melt quite the same. But it works perfectly as a spread for crackers, vegetables, and sandwiches. Dollop it on top of soups. Add it to salads, pasta, and everything in between – you can’t go wrong.
